Rough Jointed Beasts

In here you will find sixteen stories - all short and some very short. They feature door-to-door salesmen and hobos in paradise. Bratty children, witchy men, women who cast curses, and villains speaking Octopish. Headaches, queen bees, painters stranded by floodwaters. Some stories are about the art of crafting stories, with writers who rely on science to create verse and writers who go to their cleaning maids to inspire their fiction. These are stories about making art, about making poetry, about using words for powerful things. One or two of them may have been composed by monkeys sitting at typewriters. Some are mysterious, some are funny, some are scary. All will surely entertain.
